March 13, 2009 marked a very significant day for the 435 pupil beneficiaries of the Busog, Lusog, Talino (BLT) In School Feeding Project. The beneficiaries with significant improvements (mas nabusog, lumusog at tumalino) were recognized and given certificates. Several parents were also given certificates of recognition for their cooperation and active involvement in the implementation of the supplemental feeding project. Other stakeholders/partners were also recognized during the program: Saint Mary’s University Community Extension Services Program (SMU CESP KMC), DepEd Bayombong, LGU Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, officers and members of the Bayombong Local Education Alliance (BLEA) and most especially the Jollibee Foundarion, Inc..

SMU-KMC SPONSORS THE CULMINATING ACTIVITY BUSOG, LUSOG, TALINO (IN-SCHOOL FEEDING) PROJECT FOR PUBLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOLSThe project was first initiated and funded by Jollibee Foundation, Inc. during its pilot activity (SY 2007-2008) with 234 beneficiaries from 7 pilot schools from the 2 Districts of Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. The project proved to have positive results and was sustained by the Bayombong Local Education Alliance. An additional 201 beneficiaries from 7 new public schools were funded by the same foundation.

The supplemental feeding activities which provided free lunch for 120 days to the pupil beneficiaries started on the second week of August, 2009 and ended on the last week of February 2009 for school year 2008-2009.
