Because of its immense contribution to students development and community building, Saint Mary’s University is among the First Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) honored with the Institutional Membership to Students’ Transformation and Enrichment for Truth-Values Integration and Promotion (STET-VIP) Incorporated, the award was unanimously approved during the STET-VIP Inc. 38th Board of Trustees Meeting on March 5, 2009. The Institutional Membership Certificate will be awarded on May 1, 2009 on the occasion of the 7th STET-VIP NSTP CAT/NSP Annual Convention, Kabalikat Awards, and Alumni Homecoming and it will be received by Mr. Remegio M. Cantong Jr, NSTP Director, Dr. Corazon N. Abriam, DSA and CWTS Coordinator and Mr. Sherwin A. Marciano, NSTP Secretary at St. Ezekiel Moreno Spirituality and Development Center, San Jose, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

Twenty-seven Banking and Finance students, 12 Marketing, 11 Office Administration, and 30 Management students joined the Educational Fieldtrip in Manila, Tagaytay and Laguna on March 4 to 6, 2009. The students were accompanied by Mrs. Carmencita M. Lannu, Mrs. Evangeline M. Velasco, Mrs. Erlinda T. Españo, Mrs. Angela C. Garra, Mrs.Loreta V. Garlitos, and Mr. Harrison T. Villanueva, SB Faculty Members.

Waffelaert Council 3749, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya, discussed about human relations to the brother Knights during the monthly regular meeting held on April 05, 2009, 7:30 AM at the K of C Chamber. Dr. Gacusana is a staff of the Guidance Office and Testing Center (GOTC) of Saint Mary's University (SMU), Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

Saint Mary’s University won the title “BEST RESEARCH POSTER” for both the undergraduate and graduate categories in the national seminar on Challenges to Biodiversity Studies and Conservation in Northern Luzon held at the Center for Culture and the Arts (CCA) and IPR Multi-Purpose Room in Saint Louis University, Baguio City last March 26-28, 2009. The researchers were Luzviminda F. Capinding, BS-Biology student and Aurea L. Feliciano, MA-Biology student. Their adviser was Mrs. Arlene Linsangan-Tabaquero of the Natural Sciences Department, School of Arts and Sciences.
